Common questions, answered.
How do I find a certified residential appraiser in California?
Check the license first. The California Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers (BREA) lists every licensed appraiser and any discipline, free. A Certified Residential (AR) appraiser can appraise one to four unit homes of any value. Anthony Young holds License AR041465.
What does a private home appraisal cost in California?
It depends on the property, the purpose and the scope. A date-of-death, divorce or pre-listing appraisal is quoted after you share the address and the purpose. A Market Intelligence report is $200.
Can a California appraisal be done as of a past date?
Yes. Retrospective appraisals for a date of death or a date of separation are common in California estate and divorce work. The value is built from the sales and market trend that existed on that date.
Do you appraise outside the counties listed?
Often, yes. Send the address and the purpose and we will tell you whether we can take it and what scope fits.
